What are your products made from?

Our products are made made with locally sourced beef tallow, slowly rendered and purified 5 times with filtered water and Ausstralian salt for a clean, pure product. It’s then whipped with sweet almond oil, to soften the texture and carry essential oils, and finished with natural essential oils for different scents.

What is tallow, and why is it good for skin?

Tallow is rendered beef fat, once a traditional household staple. Its fatty acid profile is nearly identical to the oils your skin produces, which means your skin recognizes it and uses it to strengthen its natural barrier. This helps lock in moisture and support healthy hydration. Tallow is also naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, with vitamins A and E being especially important for skin repair and protection. Find more information about tallow on the page "Why choose tallow".

Does it smell?

Our Unscented Moisturiser and Zinc Barrier have a subtle natural scent from the tallow itself. We use high-quality Australian suet, which creates a much cleaner and milder scent than traditional beef fat.

Our scented range is blended with essential oils for those who prefer a more fragrant option.

Is it greasy?

Tallow is extremely rich, but feels smooth and lightweight when used correctly. A little goes a long way. Apply small amounts and allow it to absorb into the skin. When used sparingly, it shouldn’t feel greasy.

How much should I use?

A small amount is usually enough. Our creams are concentrated and spread easily once warmed between your hands. Most people find a pea-sized amount is plenty for the face.

Is tallow suitable for sensitive skin?

Tallow is generally very suitable for sensitive skin because of its similarity to the skin’s natural oils.

We keep our formulas minimal and avoid synthetic fragrances, making them a popular choice for people looking to simplify their skincare routine.

If you have very sensitive skin, we recommend starting with an unscented moisturiser and patch testing first.

Can tallow cause breakouts?

As with any skincare, reactions are possible. If applied sparingly, breakouts are unlikely since tallow closely matches the skin’s natural oils. Using too much may clog pores, so start with a small amount.

Where do you source your tallow?

We source high-quality Australian suet through trusted local suppliers in Melbourne. The farms we work with prioritise regenerative and organic farming practices that support healthier soil, biodiversity, and natural systems.

We then render and whip the tallow ourselves in small batches.

What is the shelf life of the products?

Our creams are best used within 9 months. They may last longer, but we recommend storing them in a cool, dry place for freshness.
