Skincare became way too complicated.

After moving from the Netherlands to Australia, I started Beauty and the Beef as a reaction to the modern skincare industry — where routines became longer, ingredient lists became impossible to read, and every problem seemed to require another product.

I wanted to create skincare that felt simple again.

 

Why “Beauty and the Beef”?

Honestly, partly to poke fun at the beauty industry.

The name is a reminder that skincare doesn’t always need miracle serums, 10-step routines or synthetic ingredients. Sometimes simpler products simply work better.

 

Then people started coming back.

What started as a small market stall quickly grew through repeat customers around Melbourne.

A lot of people first try tallow skincare because they’re curious. Many come back because their skin simply feels better using fewer products.

 

Made properly.

We source high-quality Australian suet locally through trusted Melbourne suppliers working with regenerative and organic farms across Victoria.

Then we render and whip the tallow ourselves in small batches in Melbourne.

 

The goal was never perfection.

Just honest skincare made with real ingredients.

That’s still what Beauty and the Beef is about.
